Parish Survey 2021

We would like to invite all of our residents to complete the Parish Survey, which will help us to try and accommodate the needs of the village over the course of the next 5-10 years. The results of the survey will in turn shape the Parish Plan

Previous Parish Plans have led to improving the amenities of the village, with successful bids for grants to rebuild the Village Hall, and to create and improve facilities on the recreation ground.

The village has seen a shift towards younger families, therefore the Parish Plan will be key in terms of accommodating this change, whilst at the same time maintaining its ability to meet the needs of the more established residents.

Recent external events – in particular COVID-19 – have forced us to change how we live and have started to bring a greater sense of community, which will also play a part in our future needs.

The survey will be going out to the entire village in paper form when we publish the next edition of the informer, however for those of you that are “Internet-savvy”, it will be extremely helpful to have the survey completed online to help collate the responses.

If you could take 5 minutes to complete the survey, it will be extremely beneficial for all of us. Furthermore, if there are any other views or comments you have – or if you would like to get involved with the parish plan, then please drop a line to councillor.osullivan@todwick-pc.gov.uk

The link to the survey is here and thank you for helping us to shape our village’s facilities

Hi
Since moving to the village in December 2018 my wife and I have enjoyed the quiet surroundings of our home. We moved here to be closer to our granddaughter and have not regretted it. Unfortunate that Covid 19/lockdown has stopped us enjoying the activities planned in the Village Hall.
I am an avid amateurs photographer, off road cyclist (Mountain Bike), since I retired 5 years ago at 60. I post pics regularly on the Todwick FB page. (With very positive comments from other members).

One of the things I would have found useful when we moved here was a map of all the local footpaths and cycle paths. I have discovered a cycle path from Todwick to Rother Valley Country Park, that I use regularly, around 12 miles if I do a lap of the lake. Mostly off road, so no danger of cars etc.
I would be willing to contribute to producing this, but would need help.

Regards

Steve Barnett

Hi Steve,

Firstly, thank you very much for your comments – it is this very kind of feedback we are wanting to get.

I have seen your posts/photos on the Facebook page and they have been very well received. It has certainly helped to show how lucky we are with countryside and wildlife around us.

To your comment in respect of footpaths and cycle paths, I had put together some routes for walking/running for the (currently mothballed) Todwick Running Club. You’ve suggested a great idea, so I’ll drop a line directly to share some further thoughts and have them published on this site.

Thanks again

Paul O’Sullivan
