The MUGA is now officially open! Thank you to everyone who attended the opening event at the weekend. PM us or contact Norman for further information.
Work is progressing very well in the construction of our games area at the top right hand corner of the recreation ground.
Streetscape, our contractor, have already built the full sized double tennis court , including the imitation grass base. This has been fitted out with netball hoops, inset goal posts and bolt on cricket stumps and will soon have lines painted to mark it out for tennis, five-a-side football and netball.
Outside the fencing, a picnic bench, a Teqball table and 3 exercise machines giving have now been installed giving something for everyone to enjoy.
Work is expected to be completed within the next few weeks and there will be an official opening in early October which we hope will be carried out by our local MP Sir Kevin Barron and to which everyone is invited.
Following Todwick Parish Council’s successful application for a grant from Veolia for the creation of a Multi Use Games Area on our recreation ground, we are happy to announce that work has now started.
The site has been cleared, levelled and the solid base of compacted hardcore already in place. (see photo below)Next step is to install the fencing, followed by the laying of an artificial grass work surface and all the internal fittings.
The area will be marked out for tennis, netball, 5-a-side football and cricket practice but there is no doubt that other sports can also be played.
The development will also include a Teqball table (a bit like a table tennis table but using a hand ball), 3 exercise machines and a picnic bench.
The project should be completed within the next 6 weeks and we intend then to have an official opening ceremony which we hope you will all come to.

Yesterday Todwick Parish Council received the fantastic news that as a result of our application for a grant for new facilities on our recreation ground we have been awarded a substantial amount of money that will enable us to make some exciting new changes!
We are so thrilled to inform you that our application for over £60,000 was approved by the Board of The Veolia Environmental Trust on 6th March 2018.
The Parish Council would like to thank Cllr Brian White and Jean Leah for this achievement. We are very lucky to have people like you working so hard for us all.
